Gourmet Catering & Cafe In Los Angeles.
Established by Lemuel Balagot in January 1982, the L.A. Rose Cafe has remained a staple for the local Los Feliz, Silverlake and Hollywood communities to this day. Aside from the eclectic mix of world cuisine, The L.A. Rose Cafe has developed a following in the Filipino community as many items on the menu are Filipino favorites.
We have been critics choice with Barbara Hansen of L.A. Times.
Named one of the “most noteworthy restaurants in L.A.” by Los Angeles Magazine for 9 years.

But perhaps we should let our customers speak for us:
The owner here is seriously the friendliest person ever. I’m not kidding, I think he might actually be the friendliest. The cafe is super cute and laid back, the hot chocolate and shakes are delicious, and the food is great and reasonably priced. They have a really good breakfast selection and for lunch, get the grilled trout… you can thank me later. A wonderful homey, inexpensive neighborhood spot for a mellow weekend brunch.

My FAVORITE breakfast place EVER. I love the food, i love the servers, and i love the owner.
Lemuel is just such a nice and friendly person. On top of the good food, you get great conversation with a person who genuinely cares about your thoughts and what-nots. Even with the servers! I love talking to the “manangs” that serve me my rice with a smile and a pleasant ‘good morning.’ We always looked forward to a great conversation with the staff and with Lemuel. My bf and I were regulars along with the restaurant’s other regulars. how do we know? cause whenever we were there, they were there! its really nice to have this spot to call our “usual breakfast spot.”
I must say, their choices of filipino breakfasts are amazing. Every time I go, I order the tocino plate – garlic rice & scrambled eggs. I go there so much that I don’t even eat my eggs with ketchup anymore! Because of LA Rose, I got used to eating my eggs with their side of patis/tomatoes/onion..like a true filipino! hahaha!
The LA Rose cafe is a best kept secret located just a 5 minute walk from Square One….on Fountain….u will experience home cooking and a friendly atmosphere…the food is always fresh…the atmosphere is family friendly…the wifi is free….the coffee refills unlimited….the filipino fare is authentic and delicious….if you have a craving for superior comfort food then LA Rose is a must…
